Martin County considers multimillion-dollar conservation deal to preserve Bar-B Ranch

Martin County officials are moving forward with a plan to purchase a conservation easement on the 1,700-acre Bar-B Ranch, using funds from the voter-approved half-cent sales tax and state support through the Florida Forever program. The agreement would allow the Troup family to retain ownership while permanently protecting the land from development and preserving its natural habitats for future generations.
